Back when I was a child of the new age of television; one of its names was the BOOB TUBE; When it moved to every house, it became the “electronic baby sitter”
One of the most basic precepts of media is that people can and do become addicted to it.. It will control their lives.
At 1st It was Radio; Radio was the anchor of Adolf Hitler's NAZI party power among the masses: The Numbers are staggering... In 1930, the SA ( Brown Shits, the violent thugs of the NAZI party.) a short 4 years later after it had gotten control of government and Radio, it was more like 4 Million... What changed was the Rise of the Power of the Party driven by the depression, but also driven by the new Media: Radio.

Again, Hitler benefitted by lucky timing. German cities were just finishing getting electrified. Recent technological improvements, including the ability to tune into stations and speakers, made the radio accessible. Weimar guidelines prohibited political speeches, but allowed government ministers to speak. The Nazis were therefore able to dominate the airwaves and speak for/to the nation. The Nazi worldview became the “world in view.” German families could now find daily distraction and imagine another world (2/3rds listened to foreign broadcasts) There was a new sense of normalcy,
of integration, of sharing a collective experience. Many were hearing Hitler for the first time and now, perhaps of psychologically importance, in their homes. Radio began to shape and validate reality. There was also drama. Scheduled programming was interrupted for events like Hitler speeches or a choreographed SA funeral. As Fritzsche argues, without a radio one was an outsider not participating in the national revival. The Nazi message of crisis and fear (with religious overtones) to be on defense against attack of the “November criminals” prepared Germans for battle.”
That should be a WOW in your head; It was such a world changer that in the US, The Fascist Father Coughlin; a Canadian–American Catholic priest; had an audience of 30,000,000 faithful followers, approaching ¼ of the total US population.
TV became the next daily distraction that shaped and validated people's reality, a new national reality was formed: Soaps ( Soap Operas) were one of the 1st major addictions; People would have visceral reaction if their Soaps where interrupted or they missed a day. Large conversations would be held on phones and in neighborhoods to discuss the latest revelations in “ MY SHOW.” Yes; the addicts would have psychological and even physical reactions; some becoming firm in the belief it was real... The BOOB Tube generation was born. The flashing visual images were a constant distraction from reality. Their Children became the children of the electronic babysitter. Plop them down in front of the TV with food ( Bread and Circuses) and they will not bother your reality for hours.
Then Came the Internet age and computer games and addiction... and Now its Digital Media, The slave master, and PODCASTS. You don't need food, or food for your brain, all you need is to have your world filled so you don't need reality. Indeed what was true of radio in the 1930's has come to be a Constant sense of normalcy, of integration and of shared a collective experience in an artificial world. Its not real: Social Media and the “PODCASTS” are not information: Social media is a way of controlling you. The AI identifies your weakness and the algorithms “ CURATE” the information you receive to get you thinking and seeing this fake reality just the way they want to see it. YOU ARE BEING CURATED into a New reality; A New World View: The Podcasts are a new form of TV, sold as talk and Information shows they are not there to educate you; they are there to Curate you with the subject matter and content to make a new reality. The whole purpose being to ENTERTAIN your brain, without your knowledge, to think they way they want you to think... While you may think they are ENTERTAINMENT; they are manipulating you with the constant flood bullshit... always the same warped bullshit... usually worded the same... just like on the Radio in the 1930's. PROPAGANDA may have a new name, misinformation, alternative facts etc... its still the same... made to enslave you to their way of thinking. IT IS THEIR GOAL. It is deliberate and it has made the world you see.
The answer to this is to expose this. Show how they are enslaving people. People don't like that... But you cannot mince words. You cannot fight them from without. You must enter the belly of the beast. Entertain people with Knowledge and Facts and reality. And the Key... its using the correct words. You cannot have 20 names for Fascism. There must be only 1. There is no 20 versions of facts, only 1. Your communications must be simple, mind engaging and memorable. KISS ( Keep It Simple Stupid) .. I can see it now. The KISS podcast... the Host with the Tee Shirt that says “I'm Stupid” on it. No ties, no suits.. dress the clown, keep it simple.. it should be fun keeping Politicians and guests speaking at simple levels.
